These are some sound files from some records I’ve worked on recently:
This is Dolly’s rendition of Brandi Carlile’s hit “The Story”, which was recorded for a benefit album called “Cover Stories” which supports War Child, which aids children affected by war. I recorded this with the Brandi Carlile band at RCA Studios in Nashville with Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb.
This is a 60’s song by The Nervous Breakdowns that we recorded for the HBO series “Vinyl”. We recorded this at Avatar Studios in NYC. The lineup included production by Stewart Lerman and Lee Ranaldo, Tony Shanahan on Bass, Lenny Kaye and Matt Sweeney on guitars, myself on a cool 70’s Ludwig kit and Joe McGinty on keys.
Lana Del Rey – Salvatore
This is one of a few songs I recorded on Lana Del Rey’s 2015 release “Honeymoon”. I tracked this cool “Italian” song with Lana Del Rey and Rick Nowels at Electric Lady Studios in NYC. Lana mentioned some great Giorgio Moroder influences for this song. I got to play some cool shakers, marching snare and a big “verbed-out” kit at the end.
Lana Del Rey – Swan Song
Also from Lana Del Rey’s 2015 release “Honeymoon”. I tracked this great song with Lana Del Rey and Rick Nowels at Electric Lady Studios in NYC. A beautiful dark song with great string and synth arrangements by Rick Nowels.
Lana Del Rey – 24
This is another of the songs I recorded on Lana Del Rey’s 2015 release “Honeymoon”. I tracked this great song live with Lana Del Rey and Rick Nowels at Henson Studios in LA. From that live take we embellished with extra percussion and drums, strings, etc. “(The drums get big and cool towards the end of the song!)
Brandi Carlile – Wherever Is Your Heart
This is one of the singles from the 2015 Brandi Carlile album “The Firewatcher’s Daughter” I had an incredible time tracking this album live with Brnadi and her great band along with producer/engineers Trina Shoemaker and Ryan Hadlock.
Lana Del Rey – Pretty When You Cry
This is one of two songs I played on Lana Del Rey’s album “Ultraviolence”. Lana and her guitarist Blake Lee wrote this song right before I got to the studio, and I played one or two takes of this, just with voice and guitar. They ended up keeping the song sparse which sounds great.
The Lone Bellow – Bleeding Out
This is one of the singles from the new album by The Lone Bellow. This song was picked as ITunes single of the week.
The Lone Bellow – You Never Need Nobody
This is the second single on the new album by The Lone Bellow.
Jamie McLean Band – Summertime On Main Street
This is a great song by the Jamie McLean Band which we all tracked live at Excello Studios in Brooklyn – with some rootsy instrumentation.
Jamie McLean Band – Natalie I wrote and played on this song for the Jamie McLean Band album “Completely” – produced by Stewart Lerman.
Lucy Wainwright Roche – Early Train A beautiful song on Lucy Wainwright Roche’s 2010 release “Lucy.” We recorded this album at Water Music in NJ with Grammy-winning producer Stewart Lerman.
Wells Hanley – Camels are Coming
I played brazilian percussion on this great instrumental piece by Wells Hanley.
Jamie McLean Band – Dear Love
I’m psyched with the drum sounds we got here. Engineered by Bryce Goggin and mixed by John Agnello.
Jamie McLean Band – Brother
This jam features some drum and guitar mayhem from Jamie McLean and myself. From the Jamie McLean Band album “Completely”.
Brian Griffin – Maracatu
A composition of mine featuring Erik Deutsch on piano, Jonti Siman on bass, Aaron Jennings on guitar and myself on drums and pandeiro.
Robert Sabin – Notes From Underground
A great project featuring Robert Sabin on bass & composition, Mark Stanley on guitar, Jason Rigby on saxophone, me on drums. Produced by Jay Anderson.
